Multnomah County Commissioners Approve New Courthouse Site

Multnomah County Commissioners have approved a site for a new courthouse at the west end of the Hawthorne Bridge. Commissioners chose between two sites in downtown Portland.

“This is truly a historic day for our community,” Waller said. “The last time a courthouse was sited was 1864, and it was built on the same site.”

The new building will add an iconic look to the entrance to downtown, said project manager J.D. Deschamps, who led the presentation of the final due diligence report along with county spokesman Mike Pullen and Mike Day of DAY CPM Services, the county’s owner representative and member of the courthouse project team.
